Create your own bespoke itinerary from a range of exciting activities including sunset cruises, cultural village tours, specialty bird walks, horse trails, visits to the Falls, fishing and White Rhino safaris.

Zambian-born owners Gail and Doug constantly go out of their way to provide one-on-one service to each guest, giving the lodge an intimate and special charm, and ensuring that a stay at Chundukwa River Lodge is guaranteed to be an unforgettable one.

“Experience the Zambezi at its finest from the comfort of your private hideaway”

The most striking feature of the chalets is undoubtedly their unique open-fronted layout, offering breathtaking views over the Zambezi.

Overlooking the Zambezi River is the lounge and dining area. Enjoy a sundowner in the rock plunge pool or simply sit back, relax and watch the sun’s reflection drift across the glistening river.

Take a walk around our beautiful lagoons and indigenous grounds where 100-plus species of bird can be spotted, or visit our stable of 20 horses. During the dry months, get acquainted with our special guests; a herd of African elephants who frequent the camp to feed and bathe.

In the evenings it’s time to huddle around the crackling bush fire and share stories with fellow travellers. We have a passion for home cooking and pride ourselves on our delicious food and impeccable service. Our products are locally sourced from our own garden and neighbouring farms. Guests have the option to dine at the restaurant under a blanket of stars, or privately.

Either way you’re likely to be serenaded while you eat by our resident pair of Wood Owls and the distant calls of hyena, jackal and lion – echoing across the water from the Zambezi National Park.

Tea and coffee are served in your room every morning in traditional Zambian style. Our laundry service is complimentary.

Should you want to connect to the outside world, there is Wifi available.
